Weekly Report 4/08/2017

Club Sailing
It was a grey evening on Saturday, but after a day of strong winds, the south westerly
blowing at race time had moderated to force three/four for the two planned club races run by
Mike Stace. Six boats competed; two Ospreys, two Lasers, a Cherub and a Comet. The first
race was over a port triangular course from Monkstone upwind towards the Skirs then out to
the Eastern. Ted/Richard in an Osprey were first to the windward mark inches ahead of
Dyfan/Igor also Osprey pursued by the slower single handers. The Cherub had issues and
eventually suffered a broken centre board and retired. After four laps the Ospreys in the same
order took first and second, followes by Dan in a Laser, Harri in a Laser then John in his
Comet. A second windward leeward race followed immediately again won by Ted/Richard
but Dan in Laser second and Dyfan/Igor third.
