Weekly Report 15/09/2017

Club Sailing

Adverse weather on sailing days mean there are no races to report.

Junior training

With just 2 training sessions left a number of youngsters have almost completed their stage certificate course. Just a few more items to cover, mostly on shore work.  Please make an effort to attend. We are planning to hold an end of season junior party on Wednesday Oct 18th when certificates and trophies will be presented.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who have helped through the season.

Cruiser racing

Another hotly contested race was held Sat 2nd Sept.  The wind was SSW force 3 to 4.

The leg to North High Cliff proved to be almost a fetch but the wind did head towards the end. Apatshe rounded first with Slipstream and Aries in close pursuit. A one sided beat to Giltar buoy gave Slipstream a chance to overtake Aries but Apatshe stayed in the lead. Accolade was always also in contention. Spinnakers were flown on the dead run back to Tenby. Tony and Geoff in Apatshe stayed ahead and took first place with Steve in Aries getting back into second place. Blake gained 3rd with Phil in Accolade 4th. With 12 races sailed this season the result puts Slipstream, Apatshe and Aries all tying for first place for the overall trophy. All to play for in the last race tomorrow Sat at 2pm.!!
