Weekly Report 23/02/2018

Last weekend Martin & Drew from the RYA came down to Tenby to run a Regional Mark Laying course, this was attended by 7 TSC members and a Saundersfoot sailor. The course covered topics such as : laying and streaming marks, recovering stuck marks, using a GPS  and laying gates & trapezoid courses during the saturday class room session. The sunday was spent predominantly on the water, with hands on practice for the 8 attendees in the clubs 4 larger ribs. During this session attendees were required to lay gates to a course axis, practice recovering stuck marks and laying a trapezoid course using GPS. The windward mark of the trapezoid is where the crew of blue duck came unstuck, having laid the mark in the correct position they wrapped the tackle around the prop as they moved away, fortunately all onboard knew what to do and they we swiftly on the move again.
