It has been a terrific series for one Tenby Sailing Club junior member Ioan Thompson. The top of the table has moved around as the weeks have gone on, but it all came down to the last race, overall results saw Ioan take 1st place.

Membership

Membership forms can be obtained from either the club’s website www.tenbysailingclub.org.uk or at the club itself. The membership rates for this current year remained unchanged as agreed by the members at the AGM. There are many advantages to being a member a few of which are discounted bar prices, access to showers and toilets on the harbour and priority for social events, please see the website for full details.

Members only Lounge

At the A.G.M. last November which does seem so long ago now, the members voted for and passed a member only lounge. The committee are pleased to say that the top room has been going through an extensive refurbishment and is nearing completion. The volunteers headed up by Martin Munroe and Dan Jackson have done a sterling job, not only in the decorating but securing grants to help in the project. This will be a space for members to get away from the mayhem of a busy bar to relax and maybe have a bite to eat from The Harbour Restaurant.

Commodores Quiz

This year we are raising funds for a Defibrillator to be sited outside the club at the bottom of the stone steps by the big doors. Due to the location this will also have to be a heated cabinet. The defib will then be listed on the local network and will benefit the wider community and visitors alike as there will be a defib situated on the harbour. The cost of this unit is £1300.

So please come down to the next quiz Saturday 30th March at 1930 to have a bit of fun while raising money for our Defib. Cost of the entry to the quiz is £5 for a team of up to six people or £1 if you think you can go it alone. There will be a league running for the whole year up to the final in November, you don’t have to be part of the league just come for a laugh whilst raising money. Alongside the quiz there will be a raffle, all prize donations will be gratefully received.

If anyone would like to donate to the Defib Fund please get in contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Lewis Lewis & Co have always been there to support the club over the years and it is they who sponsor the team prize so very generously.  There was a good turn out last year with the Tenby Sailors winning the team prize of £500. Let’s hope they keep it on home turf this year.

Nationals

This year we are hosting the 2000 National Championships from the 10th to the 16th of August.

We would not be able to put on these events without the help of willing volunteers, so if you would like to help out on all or some of these dates please get in touch. There are positions both on and off the water so no sailing experience is necessary if you would like to volunteer or have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch
