Tenby Harbour about 1900.

This photograph, which can be seen in Tenby Museum, is undated and by an unknown photographer, but it could be by Francis Frith or Charles Allen.

Look for the following features:

  • The end of the South Wharf (the old sluice wall) has a different shape and is damaged. There is now a slip here.

  • There is no Mayor's Slip. This was built later on the rocks known as the Baricades.

  • The front of the Sleeman's Stores building seems to have a long track or rubbing strip over the upper two floors and a post for a hoist.
