Tenby Harbour in 1830
with the 'Sleeman's Stores' building.

This picture shows the distinctive three storey building built on three stone arches.
This building was not shown on the 1811 Couling Map of Tenby.

Look for the following features:

  • Sleeman's Stores built on its three arches, two of which can be seen.

  • The Sluice basin.

  • The absence of a large gate in the Sluice wall.
    There appears to be a flight of steps where the present opening is situated.     

  • The inner, townside wall of the Sluice has not been built.

  • The Old Pier with St Julian's Chapel. This was replaced in 1842.

  • A steamer on the horizon.
