Tenby Sailing Club Race Results.

Friday 4th April 2003

One week to go to the start of the sailing season, weather permitting. In the meantime, yet another attempt a humorous maritime ditty.

Sherlock Holmes and Matthew Watson were on a fishing trip. They had gone night fishing and were lying on the deck, lines in the water looking up at the sky. Holmes said: "Watson, look up. What do you see?" "Well, I see thousands of stars." "And what does that mean to you?" "Well, I guess it means we will have another nice day tomorrow. What does it mean to you, Holmes?" "Well, to me, it means someone has stolen our bimini top!"

A reminder of the social programme for the next few weeks follows:

Friday, April II - Home darts match.

Saturday, April 12 - Mexican Evening.

Saturday, April 19 - First barbecue of the season.

Saturday, May 3 - Annual Easter Carvery.

RNLI CHEESE AND WINE EVENING

Tomorrow (Saturday), the club hosts the RNLI Cheese and Wine Evening. This is always a popular event when 'wine buffs' can try out various wines from various regions and in so doing help the RNLI fund-raising effort. So why not make this year's soiree the best ever? All are welcome!

DARTS

Contrary to last week's article, a darts match did take place as a result of a postponement last December. What you are about to read will stun even the hardened amongst you. We won! Unbelievable as it sounds, it's official. The Sailing Club has actually won a darts match, with captain Terry Evans throwing the winning dart. The celebrations are still going on.

This win may spur us on to further success. Hopefully, the next success will be this evening when we play the Crown Inn, Penally, at Penally. Participating members please note - beware, after a win it's easy to become over-confident!

Finally, anyone interested in joining this warm and vibrant club should contact any member or membership secretary, Sheila Spiller, on (01834) 812325. We look forward to meeting you.
