The frostbite series has certainly been well supported with another fine turnout on Sunday. As has been the case in recent weeks, the racing was very close, with the single-handed boats taking the honours on this occasion. The final 1-2-3-4 was as follows: 1. Ted Lewis in a Phantom; 2. Paul Johnson in a Solo; 3. Dan Lewis in a Laser; 4. Alan Lambert in a Solo. It was great to see a family duo, Malcolm and Andrew Williams, trying out their recently acquired RS400. Past performances, in particular from Andrew in his Laser, suggest that they won't be long learning the foibles of their new acquistion and begin threatening the 'regular' occupiers of pole positions. Meanwhile, on the Haven, the cruiser fraternity had to contend with gusty conditions and a strong tide. As in previous races, these conditions demanded cunning tactics and awareness of tidal flows. I'm delighted to report that the Tenby contingent again fared very well, with Daniel Jackson, in yacht Artful Dodger, coming first in division two, while Billy Stubbs and Tony Spiller, in yacht Amphora, and Blake Shaw, in yacht Slipstream, came third and fourth, respectively, in division three. With just two races remaining, it bodes well for Daniel to take the division two title. Division three is still wide open, with only six points separating the first four - it makes for some interesting tactical decisions over the next two weeks. Watch this space! DartsOur defeat last Friday must be deemed as a success as we only lost by the narrowest of margins, with the outcome being decided on the last game of the match. Captain, Terry Evans, praised his team for their gargantuan effort against a very strong side and hoped for better this week. As in all our matches, the inability to get that elusive double was again expensive - perhaps this evening we will aspire to greater things by answering our captain's call for more consistency. Participating members should note that we are at home to the Sun Inn B. Junior PartyThe annual Junior Party takes place tomorrow (Saturday) evening, commencing at 7.30 p.m. This is an ideal opportunity for our junior members to enjoy a fun evening of games and music. Parents are cordially invited to stay and participate - as in previous years, the club would appreciate it if members would bring some tasty bites to the bash. During the course of the evening, there will be a presentation of trophies to the juniors who have had success on the water. Quiz and Cawl EveningThis was a very successful evening with all present enjoying Terry Evans's award-winning cawl - so much so, that some members had thirds! After the ravenous had been sated, the tranquillity of thinking took over as members attempted to solve the Christmas anagrams set by quiz master Terry Evans. The first team to get all correct was led by Paul Evenden and Anthea Paterson - congratulations to them and many thanks to Terry for all his efforts.
