Tenby Sailing Club Race Results.

Friday 17th October 2003

No dinghy sailing on Sunday due to adverse conditions. Sailing did take place on the Haven with the usual large turnout taking on the strongest conditions in the series so far. A strong east-south-easterly gusting to 6/7 certainly tested both yachts and helms.

The Tenby contingent again fared very well, with Billy Stubbs in Amphora fourth and Blake Shaw in Slipstream coming fifth in division three, while Daniel Jackson in Enigma came third in division two.

Racing, weather permitting, as usual this Sunday.

The promised newsletter has now been circulated to members. It includes news and a list of events in the social programme.

Quiz Evening

The first of a series of quiz evenings takes place tomorrow (Saturday). Proceedings will ( begin at approximately 8.30 p.m. Quiz master Terry Evans is expecting a good turnout - there will be 'major' prizes on offer. As well as teasing the 'grey matter', there will be food served by club steward Howard Ball to provoke the taste buds into action. We look forward to seeing you.

Looking ahead to two crucial dates in November. The annual dinner/dance takes place on November 15. This is always a popular event, so please let Rolly Squibbs or Mike Stace know as soon as possible if you intend to participate. Details of the menu etc. are to be found in the newsletter.

The following Saturday, November 22, the club AGM takes place. This is an important evening in the club's calendar, so please make every effort to attend.

Darts

Guess what? Yes, we won again, the winning dart being thrown by captain, Terry Evans. Another notable performance by Rolly Squibbs, the double 13 king! What a record - played four, won three.

No darts match this evening, but there is an obligatory practice session. Participating members please note - there will be snacks laid on to keep the energy levels up. The next match is at home to the Crown in a week's time.

Finally, anyone interested in joining this vibrant club should contact any member for further details. We look forward to meeting you.
