Winter maintenance work continues. Anyone who can help should contact Rolly Squibbs on 842170 or Mike Stace on 844484. Whilst sailing is temporarily curtailed, perhaps a maritime ditty will fill the gap? A sailor meets a pirate in a bar. The pirate has a peg leg, a hook, and an eye patch. "How d'you get the peg leg?" asks the sailor. "I was swept overboard in a storm," says the pirate, "shark bit off my whole leg." "Wow!" said the sailor. "What about the hook?" "We were boarding an enemy ship, battling the other seamen with swords. One of them cut me hand clean off." "Incredible!" remarked the sailor. "And the eye patch?" "A seagull dropping fell in me eye," replied the pirate. "You lost your eye to a seagull dropping?" the sailor asked incredulously. Said the pirate, "It was me first day with the hook." DartsLast Friday's practice session was very well attended, with Terry Evans taking all the honours resulting from the evening's competitions. As well as demonstrating his prowess at darts, Terry, accompanied by Blake Shaw, fed the masses with the expected high standard of cuisine which included his legendary 'real chips'. Members of the darts team are reminded that we are away this evening to the Crown Inn, Penally - always a difficult fixture, so we will have to be at our best! St. Valentine's SupperWhat a gastronomic experience. Mike and Deanna did not disappoint. They prepared a superb dinner which was applauded by the large turnout. Many thanks to Mike and Deanna and to all those who contributed to a memorable evening. The next offering by Mike and Deanna is the eagerly awaited 'Soup Frenzy' on Saturday, March 27th. Don't miss this, I promise your taste buds will be delightfully teased! Would members please note the following:
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Table Sale, scheduled for Sunday, March 7th, has had to be postponed to a later date, probably sometime in April. Watch this space.
