Tenby Sailing Club Race Results.

          The Club now has a new web site. Phil Wathen has been working hard for the last few months squeezing information from members old and new. The result is both a splendid history of the club and an opportunity to find details of current news and forthcoming events. Well done Phil.

          The winds returned this weekend resulting in an exciting Cruiser regatta run by TSC. There were 3 races on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. Long distance courses were set around some of the DZ buoys and Eel point buoys.

          Daniel Jackson in Enigma was thrilled to win the first race but John Griffiths in Tejeda won the other three.

          However the sailing was close and the cruiser fleet are looking forward to the return event at Saundersfoot SC on August 2nd & 3rd . Overall result was Tejeda 1st , Sapphire(Rolly Squibbs) 2nd and Enigma 3rd.

          On the junior front Tommy D'Ortez excelled in the heavy winds at Dale. He was 1st overall of the non squad members in the CRYC event on Saturday and 4th in the Topper and handicap fleets in Dale regatta on Sunday.

          Bill Dowell (not a junior!) came 6th in the Handicap fleet.

          The Club is now looking forward to the arrival of over 60 Scorpion Dinghies for their UK National Championships. Racing will take place daily from Saturday July 26th to Friday August 1st. The best vantage point to watch the racing is Castle Hill. Starting times are 11 am on Sunday and Friday and 1 pm on Monday to Thursday. Club members are working hard to make this event a success. We hope that the traffic ban will not spoil the impression the competitors have of Tenby as a sailing centre and there will not be too much hassle for them getting their boats and equipment to and from the harbour.
