Racing took place last Sunday with a variety of boats crossing the start. Race officer, Helen Williams, set a course in keeping with the conditions. Mike Stace's Redwing again dominated proceedings, with the final 1-2-3-4 being: 1. Mike Stace and Deanna Morton in a Redwing; 2. Ted Lewis in a Phantom; 3. Alex MacDonald and Ruth in a Redwing; 4. Dan Lewis in a Laser. Whilst the dinghy fleet was busily racing at Tenby, vice-commodore Daniel Jackson was taking part in the 'up the Cleddau' race in his yacht, Enigma. Daniel's dinghy experience certainly helped as he finished way ahead of the next yacht in his class - indeed he finished ahead of several of the yachts in higher divisions. Well done Daniel. Racing as usual this Sunday. An update of the progress on the divine GPl4:- hull and helm are doing well, but there's still some work to be done on some foredeck vandalism. On the social scene, gluttony is the order of the day. Howard, our club steward, is putting on food this evening, but will be catering on Saturdays as from next week. Tomorrow evening the club is holding its annual end of season 'bash' in the form of a free, yes free, BBQ prepared by Terry Evans. All are welcome - this is a thank you for all the members and friends who have contributed in some way for the benefit of the club. Eating begins at 7.30 pm. DartsWhat a start to the season. We actually won a match and in style. All games went to doubles, with Ruth Tebbutt clinching the match with some fine throwing. Terry Evans played a captain's role by winning the final match of the evening. The celebrations were mega and, I believe, are still continuing in some households. This evening we are away to the Crown Inn, Penally. Members please note. Finally, anyone interested in joining this vibrant club should contact any member for further details. We look forward to meeting you. GP14 |
