Tenby Sailing Club Race & Social Event Report

          The meeting held last Wednesday to discuss the junior training programme and ways of fund raising for essential equipment and maintenance was well attended and a fruitful one. Chaired by vice-commodore, Mark Brace and assisted by senior instructor, Blake Shaw, the meeting was an ideal opportunity for members and parents to discuss and suggest ways forward. Several ideas were suggested which warranted another meeting to be held on Thursday, February 25th, commencing at 7.30 p.m. in order to finalise and coordinate the adopted suggestions.

          Nick will be on duty this evening and tomorrow evening, ready to quell the hunger of the ravenous Friday and Saturday noshers.

          After a week's rest the darts team should be eager and ready to do battle away at the Parsonage. Vice-captain Colin Parmenter will have to carry the responsibility of leadership in the absence of captain Terry Evans.

          A new newsletter has been circulated which includes details of sailing and social events. There are copies available at the clubhouse.

          As mentioned in previous articles, the club has accepted an invitation to visit Pembroke Haven Yacht Club and participate in a games challenge evening. Provisionally this will take place on Saturday, March 6th. Would members please note – the date will be confirmed as soon as possible. Watch this space.

          You may recall that Saundersfoot Sailing Club paid us a visit last year for a games and social evening. I can confirm that we have been invited for a return "match" on Friday, February 26th at Saundersfoot Sailing Club.

          Members and friends are invited to watch the Six Nations Rugby on our big screen. Food will also be available to satisfy the ravenous.

          It's that time of the year. Members are reminded that the annual subscriptions are now due. Contact membership secretary Julia Dashfield on 844918 for further details.
