- Eric was an Australian Merchant Shipping Engineer, and before retirement he was away from home for long periods.
- He had many boats over the years which he liked to restore to their original splendor. These included a Redwing, an Osprey, a Salcomb Yawl, a Leisure 22 cruiser and a 23ft. Westerly Pageant called Accolade.
- Eric helped the club over many years looking after the club bar.
- Eric died on 3rd May 2002.
