Junior Training

We are a RYA accredited training centre and offer junior sail training on a Wednesday evening from Easter to the end of September for children over 8 years old. We currently have a range of beginners, intermediates and racing groups. We offer training towards stages 1 to 4 in the RYA Junior Scheme and also to Assistant Instructor level. We also offer an opportunity to work towards RYA Power Boat 1 and 2 certificates. We operate safety boats whenever the juniors are on the water. Whatever level you are at, we are sure you will find sailing exciting and fun on one of the best sailing waters in the UK

The 2023 Junior Sailing season has now finished, but we look forward to welcoming all returning and new Juniors in spring 2024.

Juniors will need to be members of the Club (cost per annum - £15 or £10 if part of a family), then £60 payable in advance for the Training Season.

You do not need to own a boat. The Club has 28 dinghies for members’ use including Optimists, Teras, Junior Toppers, Lasers and Fevas.

Out of season the group continues to meet for social events such as quizzes, parties and film nights.

All parents are required to countersign the enrolment form and each Junior remains the responsibility of the parent throughout the session, except when under supervision of an instructor either on shore or on the water and must be in attendance at all times.
